Instagram offers a lot of different kinds of privacy options because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up allowing users to feel secure while they are on the platform. However, a lot of the times these privacy settings come about due to the reason that Instagram has made it so that people can see your activity in some way, shape or form such as the setting that allows you to control whether or not people can see when you were last online or active on the platform.
It seems like this isn’t the only thing that Instagram is trying to show to your followers. A new feature, as per Alessandro Paluzzi, has made it so that your followers would be able to see if they are active at the same time as you are, and this is something that users can toggle on and off now as well. In order to access this feature, you need to go to Activity Status in settings and you will see an option that says “Show When You’re Together”.
Bear in mind that if you toggle this feature off, you won’t be able to see when you are active together with your followers as well. This might be a good thing for certain users who have a more privacy minded approach to these kinds of things, although other users would like being able to know when their friends are available for them to talk to at any given point in time. Instagram’s privacy levels have not been up to the mark in the past, so it’s definitely a good thing that the social media platform is working harder to make itself safer for the hundreds of millions of people that use it on a more or less regular basis.
