Just when the iOS application, Clubhouse was trending among the Apple users, one of the Social media giant, Twitter announced that a similar audio only chat feature for its users. A month after this announcement was made a beta version of the app, namely “Twitter Spaces” was launched on the social media platform.
Initially the beta version was launched for both iOS and Android users but now taking things to another level, Twitter has made this app accessible to desktop personal computer users as well by the development of Spaces for web, which means that with this step a wide range of people can use this audio chat at the same time, as first spotted by Noah.
The working principle is the same which means that there will be no limit on the number of listeners and up to ten (10) people can share their thoughts, however the power to control and regulate the speakers will reside with the host himself. The only difference is that the desktop users will be shown more rooms for the users present within a Space. With this new accessibility feature Twitter has drastically increased the amount of people that can now reach out to this audio only chat and interact with each other. This will also provide a great opportunity to the broadcasters to increase their audience as well as to increase the number of people with whom they could share their opinions with.
The feature is still in its beta state and Twitter has recently increased its test group as well, but the officials are confident that the full release will be made possible in the upcoming weeks. These recent developments are subjected to increase the pressure on Club House as it is still at its Beta stage and does not have its Android Version available as well. As a result Twitter Spaces is proving itself to be more appealing to the users as compared to Club House. This statement could also be verified with the latest figures which clearly shows the downslope suggesting that the people are gradually losing their interest in this audio chat platform.
It is clear that the Twitter Spaces is turning out to be a rival feature for Clubhouse and is proving itself to be a tough competition for the position of being the best audio only chat, which would slightly increase the concern for the previously trending app, however, ClubHouse could still reach its peak only if it keeps up with the Twitter lead development.
