Wikipedia Lets Users Try Out New Desktop Design in Preferences

Most websites and internet based platforms tend to change up their design every so often because of the fact that this is the sort of aspet that could potentially end up allowing more users to become more interested in what they have to offer. Wikipedia has been a rare example of a site that does not conform to this sort of thing at all, rather staying the same for very long periods of time so that the information that the site is designed to give out to people can end up remaining more accessible than it would otherwise be.

With all of that having been said and out of the way, it is important to note that Wikipedia is planning to launch a new desktop design. In fact, the French version of the Internet’s free encyclopedia has already been using this new design as the standard. Most users of Wikipedia don’t even know that a redesign is coming, though, and Wikipedia has decided to tackle this issue by giving users the chance to try the new design out before it gets rolled out to everyone out there.

As reported by Jane Manchun Wong, if you want to check out the new design, all you have to do is go to your preferences. Once you are in the preferences section, the second thing that you would need to do is go to the appearances section below. You can then select the Use Legacy Vector option. Once you do this, all you would need to do now is to refresh your browser. Once this is done, the new Wikipedia design would be right there for you to take advantage of.

Some are criticizing this new design and saying that they don’t like it, but this is nothing new in the world of the internet where any redesign is met with a lot of hostility.
