Twitter is big on consumer rights, and a big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that they want to establish themselves as the social media platform that truly cares about what users want which is something that could allow the struggling company to compete with behemoths like Facebook that have a much stronger grasp on the market which is increasing quite a bit as each year goes by and Twitter continues to further fade into obscurity.
With all of that having been said and out of the way, it is important to note that Twitter has just updated its privacy and safety settings in line with an attempt to become more transparent with users. Users are now going to see a much simpler privacy and safety settings panel. You would have a search option which can make it much easier to find the specific setting that you are looking for rather than having to scroll and guess until you finally find the setting that is truly useful to you in every single way, shape or form.
Users are also getting more control over what ads they see, how their data is used as well as the kind of content that they would end up seeing as they scroll through this timeline. In order to make the process of managing your privacy and safety settings as easy as possible, Twitter has also released a series of videos that provide detailed descriptions of how the process works. This is a great step from the social media platform, one that is much needed during this day and age where people just don’t trust social media companies anymore because of the fact that they assume that they are just trying to profit from them and nothing else.
