Facebook has recently published its performance report for the third quarter of 2020, and with a few dips and bumps in the US and Canada, the rest of the report shows a brilliant performance through this period, across all its apps.
If we talk about the Facebook app alone, it has managed to see 35 million new users, adding up to around 1.82 billion daily active users in the third quarter.
According to Facebook, the daily active users and monthly active users have increased elsewhere except for the US and Canada in this quarter of 2020. The company says that the DAUs and MAUs increased in Q2 most probably because of the coronavirus pandemic and the global lockdowns because of it. But since the company performed well in other regions, they are hopeful to see a boost in DAUs and MAUs in the US and Canada again by the end of the fourth quarter of 2020. At the moment, the reports show a 12% Y-o-Y increase and a slight decline, because of the US and Canada, does not seem to put a major dent in Facebook’s armor.
Interestingly, most of the user growth has been noticed in the Asia Pacific region, and India tops the list of most active daily and monthly users in the subcontinent.
Another good news for Facebook regarding its monthly active users is that it is very close to touching the 3 billion mark, and that is huge comparing to other platforms.
This report highlighted several other aspects too apart from DAUs and MAUs. For example, in terms of the ‘Family daily active people’ metric, Facebook has shown user growth across all its apps including the Facebook app, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. If we keep the Facebook app’s stats aside, the other apps in the family of Facebook manage to have around 72 million users in total adding to the users of the Facebook app.
An estimate suggests that on a monthly basis, Facebook manages to see around 3.21 billion users across all its apps!
In this report, Facebook has also mentioned the aspects of ‘Facebook Average Revenue Per Person’ and ‘Facebook Average Revenue Per User.’
Both these charts show a major boost in revenue for the company in the Q3 of 2020. On estimate, Facebook generates around $7.89 per user and $6.76 per user across all its apps. Now, the users of the Facebook app alone are around 2.7 billion, and the users across all its apps are around 3.21 billion. Now, if we do the math, we can easily see that Facebook generated around $3.71 billion from all the apps in its family during this period.
As an overall conclusion for revenue, Facebook has generated a total of $21.47 billion in this quarter.Read next: WhatsApp users have grown amidst the pandemic and now the messaging service is used to send around 100 billion messages daily
