Instagram has added a number of features over the years in order to entice users into making the most of the kind of platform that they are trying to look into. Instagram is scrambling to add as many features as possible to Reels so that users don’t end up migrating to TikTok since they would already have a feature that the platform offers in an app that they might be more comfortable with due to the reason that they would have already been using it for so long.
The latest feature that Instagram is about to add to Reels is a countdown feature. As spotted by Alessandro Paluzzi, this would give you a three to ten second countdown to allow you to prepare for when the recording starts. This is a cool feature that would most likely go down well with users since it would enable them to make better quality Reels. However, it is currently unknown whether or not this would be enough to truly allow the average Instagram user the chance to avoid using the fastest growing social media platform in the world, although Instagram and its parent company are adamant to put up a real fight.
