According to the recent report provided by BrandZ, Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands have experienced a steady increase in the value of 5.9%. Back in the year 2019, the value increased by 7%, but the increase is still notable as the brands were able to increase their value even during the pandemic.
Now, the total value of the top 100 most valuable global brands has reached approximately $5 trillion, and more than $227 billion were added to total value during this year. The total value was $4.7 trillion in 2019, and back in the year 2018, it was approximately $4.4 trillion.
According to the report, tech companies dominated the top ten most valuable brands across the globe in 2020. Moreover, most of these top ten valuable brands are US companies such as Microsoft, Google, and Facebook, etc.
The report indicates that Amazon (the eCommerce giant) is currently the most valuable brand across the globe. The estimated value of Amazon is currently $415,855 million and this brand ranks number one in the list of top 100 most valuable global brands in 2020.
Amazon is followed by Apple which ranks second in the list, and has an estimated value of $352,206 million. Then comes Microsoft which is ranked third in the list. The estimated value of Microsoft is approximately $326,544 million. Google is also among the top 5 most valuable global brands and ranks fourth in the list with an estimated value of $323,601 million.
VISA, Alibaba.com, Tencent, and Facebook have much less estimated value as compared to the brands discussed above. However, these brands fall in the top ten most valuable global brands. According to the report, VISA has an estimated value of $186, 809 million, and ranks fifth in the list followed by Alibaba.com with an estimated value of $152,525 million. Alibaba.com is one of the leading online commerce providers in China.
According to the report, two Chinese brands including TikTok and Bank of China were among the newcomers in the top 100 most valuable global brands. Last year, four of the newcomers were Chinese brands, and now 17 Chinese brands are among the top 100 most valuable global brands. It was also recorded that Tencent has an estimated value of around $150,978 million followed by Facebook which has an estimated value of $147,190 million.
