Facebook often changes things up in various ways and a big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that it is trying to incorporate features from all of its different platforms so that it can continuously improve its user experience by a pretty large margin. One thing that the social media giant started experimenting with last October was a change in the way images ended up being displayed. It was clear that Facebook wanted to start going for a more visually centered approach for their social media, and this meant that changes to the format needed to be made.
These changes are now being rolled out, and most people would agree that the new presentation formats are quite good due to the reason that they have a tendency to vastly improve how much your images pop on the newsfeed. It’s clear that Facebook doesn’t want image centric social media to solely be to purview of Instagram, and the social media platform is trying to transform its flagship service as well so that more people start using it in an increasingly visual manner which could lead to even bigger changes down the line.
It is currently unknown if these image formats will be rolled out to Brand Pages as well, but the fact of the matter is that this is the sort of thing that Facebook tends to want to focus on since businesses would want to use these new formats as well. Once that rollout happens, the way brands are able to advertise on Facebook will change entirely so much so that you might be seeing much more visual ads and posts from these brands.
While this isn’t an enormous change, it does give people an idea of the direction that Facebook seems to be headed in.
