The reason behind this is that research conducted by the Talos Security Group has revealed that around 80% of smartphones out there are actually very easy to trick. They used a fake fingerprint tech and made 20 tries on each smartphone, and 4 out of every 5 smartphones they tried this one ended up unlocking even though a fake fingerprint was being used.
Even phones from huge brands such as Apple and Samsung were found to be very susceptible to fake fingerprints which is why you should be as careful as possible. If you have any data on your phone that you feel is sensitive in some way, shape or form, you should try your best to make sure that you add some more security features as well. It is important to note that the vast majority of technologies out there are never going to be 100% safe but this doesn’t mean that improvements can’t be made.
