To say that people have gotten better at expressing their opinions and classifying what’s right and what’s wrong for them would be an understatement. Due to this, it is pretty common for them to indulge in “fights” with others on social media, if there is a clash of opinions. What one considers entertaining can be “sensitive” for others. It looks like Instagram has just the solution for this problem.
Recently, renowned social media consultant Matt Navarra tweeted about Instagram working on a “Limit Sensitive Content” option. As he mentioned in his tweet, he got the tip from Twitter user Alessandro Paluzzi.
Screenshots shared by Paluzzi (a mobile developer) shows that once the option in question is enabled, people will come across fewer posts (photos and videos) that might be sensitive.
If these tweet is any indication, the “Limit Sensitive Content” feature will be accessed via Settings > Sensitive Content. Instagram is touting this option as “giving people more control of the content they see”.
According to Jane Manchun Wong's observation, "This [option] seems to be on by default and shows a warning dialog when you turn it off".
As for now, the option is in the testing phase and no further details about it have been disclosed. Whether it will be rolled out in the coming days/weeks or later isn’t known yet either. What we can say is that it will surely help make Instagram a safer platform for all kinds of audiences.
Along with this feature Alessandro Paluzzi also claimed that Instagram is testing a "Share to..." option for IGTV videos.
