Since almost everyone is under lockdown situations and a majority of people are working from home. Staying at home all day with no extra activities is very mind-numbing. Thankfully, to help us kill the boredom a lot of tech companies are working actively, and Instagram is one of them. The Facebook-owned app reportedly testing a feature that will allow Instagrammers to have fun with their friends online by giving them different challenges.
Jane Manchun Wong, a reverse engineering expert, revealed that Instagram is testing a new sticker named “challenge”. The social media app is probably testing this to create something fun for its users. Through this update, users can nominate each other for amusing challenges.
Instagram has not officially released any statement about the test. Nevertheless, Wong appears to have strong app research skills. She also mentioned about the sticker that most probably it would be a global launch once the tests have been done.
Last month, Instagram launched another sticker called “stay home”. The major goal behind this launch was to encourage and support people to stay home and reduce the spread of the virus. It expressed an affirmative sign and made quarantine fun. Similarly, Instagram also introduced “I Stay Home” sticker to encourage self isolation practices.
When people used to upload their stories using this sticker, they become a part of Instagram stories where other users can watch their content and see how they are spending their time at home and staying safe. It was a great approach of Instagram to shift the minds of people towards entertaining and optimistic side. During this time of medical emergency introducing these entertaining updates would make it easier for people to maintain social distance.
Instagram has been frequently releasing interesting features on the app. Last December, the Facebook-owned app rolled out a feature (AKA Layout) that captures multiple pictures in stories. Instagram made this update public by sharing a screenshot on its official Twitter account and shared a sneak peek of what to expect from the newly launched feature.
The sneak peak of Challenge sticker is exciting for a lot users, let's see now when Instagram rolls out this feature.
