Reverse-engineering specialist Jane Manchun Wong recently reported Instagram to be prototyping the ‘Latest Post’ feature. According to the screenshot shared by her, the new feature bears strong similarities to the previous chronological feed and would allow the users to easily spot new posts and updates from the people they are following.
Instagram users on Twitter quickly took on Wong’s discovery and said that the feature would be highly useful when introduced fully. A few users also admitted complaining about the same to Instagram and tweeted their appreciation for the Facebook-owned company.
To find out more details, we contacted Instagram but the company did not respond immediately to the rumor mill. However, later, a spokesperson tweeted on Jane’s post and confirmed that this is an early prototype of a new feature. Alexandru Voica further explained that the feature is taken from Hackathon – a Facebook tradition and will not be made publicly available in the near future.
