The ‘Dark Mode’ is one of the most anticipated features for mobile phone users. Besides eliminating eye strain when using the phone at night, the dark UI consumes very less power and reduces the distracting white spaces on webpages to improve focus.
Several apps and services such as Messenger, Google Chrome, and Instagram have introduced the dark mode for their respective platforms. And now finally, WhatsApp is ready to enter the arena as well by launching the feature for its Apple users.
The development regarding the dark mode for WhatsApp have been making the rounds for some time now with reports that the Facebook-owned company is testing the service for both – iOS and Android. However, it looks like iPhone users will get the bite of the feature very soon as a new beta version of WhatsApp for iOS with dark mode enabled is available. This signifies that the feature will be available for all iPhones soon.
Unfortunately, Mark Zuckerberg’s entity took a very long time to integrate the dark mode in its service as all major iOS apps have already been updated to include the feature. But as they say ‘better late, then never’ and we hope WhatsApp updates iPhones (as well as Android phones) with the dark mode soon.
Beta versions for both – Android and iOS are available. However, iOS users have to join the WhatsApp TestFlight program that is reportedly fully booked.
