And just when we start thinking that Pinterest has done it all, the content discovery platform surprises everyone. Nearly 10 years have passed since Pinterest was launched and throughout this period, it has helped several people in getting a hold of what’s happening around the world through pictures, GIFS and videos.
Although Pinterest has a lot of cool features and options already implemented for its users, there is always room for improvement. And perhaps we might soon be witnessing some new additions in the concerned social networking app, as per renowned App Researcher Jane Manchun Wong.
Wong recently tweeted about Pinterest working on an Explore Tab. She also attached a screenshot with her tweet that provides us with a sneak peek of the said Tab. Users will be presented with the options of checking out content related to the accounts that they follow, as well as staying updated with the trending stuff and ideas worldwide. Explore or Discover Tab has become an important part of almost every successful social media service and it is high time that Pinterest starts giving a thought to it.
That’s not all however; Wong also tweeted about a new type of Board that Pinterest is reportedly testing. Yes, we are referring to the trip-planning Travel board. It will basically enable friends (or just a user alone) to look up and add the places they desire to visit (for example: local restaurant, malls and recreation points). The screenshot included in Wong’s tweet clarifies how the process will work (hint: It’s pretty simple!).
As of now, there’s no word regarding when (and if) these features will be rolled out to the main Pinterest app for general users. However, it should be soon.
One thing that should be mentioned here is that Pinterest is here to stay and has plans to keep its user-base happy and engaged with the app. Stay tuned to receive any potential updates on this story.
