More than 100 Android apps have been identified that can possibly be dangerous for your mobile devices and should be deleted as soon as possible.
More than 2.5 billion devices use Android operating system and a cyber security firm has provided a list of apps that should be removed from the Android devices immediately.
According to a report published by White Ops around 116 apps are deceiving 4.6 million devices through ads.
A program has been identified by the company, which it codenamed Soraka, that can display ads on mobile even when the app is not in use.
At any time, a full-screen ad will display and will occupy a mobile screen for about 20 seconds.
One of the apps called Best Fortune Explorer was used by the company to show the attack. It also identified similar 100 apps that can do the same.
Adware is hidden on the devices and cannot be found out easily.
John Laycock of White Ops while talking about cyber-crimes said, bad actors are getting smarter as they have started using "hiding behaviors" in their frauds.
Best Fortune Explorer users have already left risky reviews on the app.
One of the users said after downloading this app, there are several unnecessary ads that even during typing the review, four ads were displayed.
Another one complained about the app, calling it virus as non-stop ads are displayed.
Overall, almost 100,000 people have installed Best Fortune Explorer and the average app rating now is 3 stars.
Google has been informed by White Ops about the issues but reportedly some of the 116 programs are still found on the Play Store.
White Ops have advised users to avoid downloading any questionable app. They have also given the names/links of each package that can be dangerous for your Android smartphone.
