Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, a subsidiary of Facebook says that he is worried about his parent company and its ability to handle the 2020 U.S. presidential election, after the fiasco that happened four years ago.
In a recent episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast, Mosseri said that he is nervous about the whole situation as it also puts his position in jeopardy. However, he does agree that some of the accusation that was addressed to Facebook in 2016 was fair and the company has to work on ways to eliminate false information as well as interference from foreign authorities before the next round of elections start.
He claimed that Facebook is making progress but perfection is still far. In fact, he says that the company should put extra emphasis on protecting its service from abuse – just as it does in creating products that the consumer likes.
Mosseri has been part of Facebook for more than 10 years. He is now serving as the head of Instagram since last year.
