Global Facebook and Instagram Outage: Users are panicking on social media [UPDATE: Issue Resolved]

The social media giant, Facebook, and the subsidiary Instagram have seemingly been on a day’s vacation, probably, as the sites had gone down sometime earlier today. According to outage detecting site, DownDetector, users around the world are complaining about the outage, this was shared via the competing network Twitter as users kept tweeting of the inconvenience.

This downtime is not limited to only these two app (i.e Facebook and Instagram); massive outages of Messenger were also reported globally. However, apparently, Whatsapp is not affected by this outage.

With the daily leisurely scroll on Facebook being hindered, at some places, lack of interaction via Instagram too, the users went into a desperate frenzy on Twitter with hashtags of #facebookdown, #instagramdown.

Some went as far as sharing the screenshots of pages being “unavailable”, or links of the Facebook pages apologizing for lack of service with a caption “Something went wrong.”. However, the Twitter page of the company itself hasn’t officially said anything yet, spreading the good vibes of “everything is awesome”.

By the reports of DownDetector, there has been a huge rise in the reports of the site going down by the users recently.

Here's how social media users are reacting:

Hope to see this matter getting solved quickly. The company needs to buckle up in its efforts to deal with such breakdowns of the site on such an extended scale and work towards making sure that an inconvenience like this doesn’t befall on its users anytime soon.

Update 1: Instagram tweeted that, "We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing Facebook’s family of apps, including Instagram. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible."

On the other hand Marissa Hoek, Developer Support Engineer at Facebook, explained that, "We are currently experiencing increased error rates across Facebook Login and the Graph API. Our team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix."

Update 2: Both Facebook and Instagram announced that the issue has been finally resolved. "Gobble gobble, we back. We apologize for the inconvenience and wish a #HappyThanksgiving to those who celebrate!", tweeted IG team.
