WhatsApp is possibly developing a similar function as a boomerang that will be used in status updates as well as chats. Just like Instagram, WhatsApp users will also be able to create a looping video clip.
The boomerang-like clip can be created of videos that are less than seven seconds.
According to reports by Wabetainfo, this feature is under development from the last two weeks. A short video clip also has been gotten hold of that shows how this feature will work and its functionality.
It will be available in Video Type panel where users will be able to create GIFs from videos. A new button will appear in a toggle tab, whenever a video of fewer than seven seconds will be opened in it.
After converting the video into a lopping clip or boomerang, it would give the option of either sharing it with contacts or share it as the status update.

The feature is still in developing process and not available even on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS users though it is expected that soon it will be pushed to a beta version for testing.
No reputable ETA is yet available to release this feature, says a report. It is expected that this new feature will first be launched on iOS, and then it will be made available for Android users.
