In July 2019, Facebook was the most downloaded app, almost 56 million installs in a month. 23% of the total downloads were from India, followed by Indonesia with 11%. App Stores Intelligence platform by Sensor Tower collected the complete app download data, both from Google Play Store and Apple app store.
Overall, TikTok was the most downloaded app throughout the world in July, with over 53.5 million. India is again leading with most downloads in that region, almost 41% downloads in total. China was at the second number with 10% of the total downloads in the country.
The installation data was recorded from 1st July 2019 to 31st July 2019. It does not include already installed apps. Third-party stores in Android are not included either. However, it involves different versions of apps, like Facebook and Facebook Lite.
Other popular apps like Instagram and Snapchat are also among the top five most downloaded apps.
