Do not become a victim of this new Facebook hoax

Facebook started as being one of the most popular social network and it still is but during the past years, Facebook has become more of a platform full of false rumors and misinformation. On various occasions, Facebook has been accused of spreading fake news. Over the past years, Facebook has been facing multiple investigations due to its privacy violations and other sorts of scams.

Although the social media giant is trying out new policies, hiring new employees and introducing new tools to prevent any misinformation to spread but still it is one of the largest platforms with a widespread of misinformation.

Facebook is trying its best to curb any misinformation or fake news on the platform but still, there are so many private groups working on strategies to scam the users of Facebook.

Now let’s discuss the new scam that’s happening on Facebook these days and you need to stop it before you become its another victim. If you’re a user of Facebook no doubt that you’ve seen this scam. Maybe unintentionally you come across this scam message but scroll down without reading it or sometimes you do read it. May your one of close friends posted it or you mom or your dad posted it too. You may have also posted it thinking it might be real and help you secure your privacy.

Now there’s a message (quite similar to Instagram) roaming on Facebook as a notification to the team of Facebook to not use any user’s personal information. According to that message, Facebook can access your pictures and personal information and it can be used against you in the courtroom. I mean can you believe that? Who would go to the courtroom just because their photo contains something illegal to others? And who would actually complain against that? Haha, probably, no one.

Let us tell you that it is not real. It’s a scam and Facebookers should not believe any words of that post. Let’s do some fact check on that message as to why it can’t be trusted.
  • Firstly there is so poor choice of words and you can notice how incorrect capital letters are used. Let’s think it through, do you think that if Facebook wants its users to post this message don’t you think it would be written in a more professional way rather than with poor grammar and typos?
  • Secondly, how can you believe that one day you’re using social media and the second day you’re in court because you used this platform? ‘Be a real man’.
  • When you register and login on Facebook you agree to certain legal terms including the privacy policies and you can easily modify your privacy settings anytime you want. So you grant Facebook access to the content you only approve to otherwise Facebook cannot use any of your content against you without violating its privacy terms.
  • Posting content on your wall can’t help you secure your privacy terms, can it? No! Your terms with Facebook depends on the guidelines you agree on so posting any notice on your wall to Facebook cannot help secure your privacy at all.

Conclusion

Stop posting this message on your Facebook account. If you want to change your privacy go to your account’s settings and change it. Don’t post the content on your wall that you don’t want to be shared. If you’re still not sure to trust Facebook, you can simply cancel your account and live a more secured life. So posting this content won’t help at all think about it.
