It should be noticed by everyone how hard Facebook is promoting the Stories features across the apps and services it owns such as Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram. The feature has witnessed an impressive audience growth over the last several months as well. Additionally, advertisers are willing to invest in it.
However, one thing that is to be noted is that the Stories feature is far less prominent on the desktop version of Facebook than its mobile counterparts. It can be said that most of the users utilizing the Stories features are mobile users. However, desktop users should be targeted to try out the feature as well in order to keep the growth rate steady.
Looks like that is exactly what Facebook has in mind as Social Media consultant Matt Navarra and Jacki Pitkow recently shared a significant news regarding the presentation of Stories on the Desktop version of Facebook.
Navarra tweeted that the Social Media Giant is making Stories on Desktop as prominent as it does on mobile. He attached a screenshot as well, which shows the Stories panel being displayed right below the post creation panel, instead of appearing on the upper-right corner of the screen. This move will undoubtedly cause users to notice the feature.
As of now, it seems like the feature is in testing phase. If everything goes well, you will start noticing the change sooner rather than later. Until then, stay tuned!
