Rejoice Instagram Fanatics! If you use the Stories Camera on Instagram to take photos or record videos, you must feel concerned about the short duration after which the captured stuff will disappear. If that’s truly the case, then there is a good news in store for you.
As posted by Social Media industry commentator Matt Navarra on Twitter, Instagram (just like YouTube) will now save everything in the app for 7 days if it is captured with the Stories Camera. The saved material shall be accessible via “Recents” and posted as per the convenience of user.
Navarra’s tweet also included a screenshot depicting the dialog box notifying users about the change as well as another screenshot showing the captured media file in the “Recents” folder with a message that the items in the folder would disappear after seven days.
The previous limit was 24 hours and many people spoke up against it. Moreover, with Instagram now making efforts to focus its business model around Stories, it makes sense to make the feature convenient to use instead of making users feel that they are in a rush of some kind with the 24-hour limit.
It remains to be seen what users have to say about this but the feedback is expected to be good, considering that the change was demanded by many.
