The fantasy drama series, “Game of Thrones” (GoT) has managed to garner another record by hosting one of the most tweeted episode in the television history.
On April 28, GoT aired the third episode of its latest season titled “The Long Night.” The episode created such a buzz that it brought more than 7.8 million tweets from the fans and created a record of the most tweeted scripted television episode. The 67-minute battle scene was the focal point of the episode that made it one of the biggest featuring of GoT as of yet.
Second place in TV tweet history is also held by the final season premiere of Game of Thrones that aired last year on April 14. The episode garnered over five million tweets.
So far in 2019, Game of Thrones has been the center of over 52 million tweets indicating the final season of the HBO hit to hold massive fan following.
Besides holding the record for the most tweeted scripted episode in TV history, the recent episode of GoT introduced a new emoji for Arya’s weapon. Additionally, Arya was the most tweeted character of the third episode, followed by the Night King, Bran, Jon Snow, and Cersei.
