App researcher Jane Manchun Wong has uncovered some new developments within the Facebook platform. According to her tweets on her Twitter handle, Facebook will soon be making changes to its Stories layout and even a card layout feature to find nearby friends.
Find out all about them here:
As per Wong’s screenshots, Facebook Stories will soon add filters using on-device machine learning model. The filters experienced by Wong included Watercolor, HDR, High Contrast, and Tunnel Grid. The filters on her post look aesthetically appealing and seem like a noteworthy addition to enhance the Stories game.
However, some users called this attempt a copy-paste job by Facebook with little to no innovation in the process.
Let’s wait and see how the general user base will react when the feature finally rolls out.
Another update by Jane was the introduction of ‘Your Archive’ tab on the first pane of the Stories tray. Currently ‘My Stories’ comprises the first pane but according to Jane Manchun Wong, the latter would be replaced by the Archive Stories tab followed by ‘Add to My Story’ tab.
Jane Manchun Wong also reported that the social media giant would soon be rolling out a new card layouts for their ‘Nearby’ Friends feature. Although, she did not share much information about the upcoming feature but assuming from her screenshot, the new card layout will indicate the locations of the user’s Facebook friends, just like Snapchat.
No official statement by Facebook has been yet issued regarding the test phase or the launch of these features. Let’s wait to see when Jane’s researched features are rolled out.
