MBLM's Brand Intimacy 2019 Study has finally concluded and the results are quite interesting. In case you are unaware, Brand Intimacy Study is perhaps the largest study of brands based on emotions. Although the apps and social platforms industry ranked at #10 (out of the 15 industries studied), the brands of this industry witnessed some interesting developments.
In a surprising turn of events, Pinterest knocked 2018’s leader Apple Music to secure the top spot. Apple Music was pushed down to the fifth spot. Instagram secured the second highest spot for a Social Media app (fourth) while Spotify and Pandora followed the leader Pinterest with second and third positions respectively.
Over 6,000 people aged between 18 and 64 were surveyed in order to conduct this year’s study. This year also saw MBLM partnering with Praxis Research to survey people.
Speaking about the apps and social platforms industry; while Spotify emerged as the #1 brand for men, Pinterest emerged as the #1 brand for not only women but also for millennials, users above the age of 35, in addition to users with an income of less than $75,000 per annum and those with significantly higher incomes as well.
Also, Pinterest increased its score on the list from 22.0 in 2018 to a whopping 44.9 this year.
According to MBLM, Pinterest has established a stable emotional attachment with its users. It has also paved the way for a number of strong associations across the study. Thus, at a time when people have developed trust issues dealing with Social media services, Pinterest has only strengthened its connections with users across the platform.
