LinkedIn – the professional networking platform is planning to close its standalone Job Search app in the coming month. According to the company, they are integrating similar – but better features in their main LinkedIn app that will enable the users to gain more visibility and find better opportunities.
The update regarding the change was announced through a notification message (also available in the App Store history page) which states that:
"The LinkedIn Job Search app is going away in May. We know this is a change, but not to worry. All your Job Search app features and saved preferences are available in the main LinkedIn app."
The Job Search app was launched in 2014 to help users find employment through a convenient portal. It included filters for relevant search results and even alerts about the prospect job openings.
However, the upcoming change will bring improvements to the job search process – LinkedIn claims.
In February, LinkedIn also launched a live video feature that broadcasted professional events, along with career tips and interviews from professionals.
