Instagram is increasing the level of media sharing service to something new every time as the latest addition in the features include more advanced AR effects and the option for users to co-watch anything in video calls.
Code Hacker Jane Manchun Wong recently posted a demo of the updates in one of her tweets and she definitely seems to be in love with what Instagram is planning further.
Augmented reality has been the platform’s favorite for a while and it indeed has worked extremely well for them. Users are loving the filters, which Instagram updates every now and then. However as we know that technology demands constant innovation, so the expansion of AR effects to video calls was just a matter of time.
Based on what we have seen so far, Instagram's Co-watching media will originate from the content which users might have been exploring lately. The suggestion box will also include images or videos which you have saved on your device and even the ones which you just liked on the platform.
