Google Lens despite being smart still has certain limitations and thus refer you to other apps for the solution. According to a recent report by 9to5Google, specific augmented realities tasks will soon be fulfilled with the introduction of new filters in the Lens. This will lower the dependency on other apps to which Lens often redirects. One of these filters is “translate” which will auto-detect a language and then translate it into another language rather than copying the text and directing you to Google Translate.
“Dining” is another filter which will help in identifying the restaurants nearby and the popular dishes. Also, the “shopping” filters is expected to be introduced which will focus on the generic products. Instead of one-size-fits-all, Google Lens has been working on providing a specialized search.
I/O 2019 will be starting on May 7th, whereas, there has been no news regarding when the upgraded Lens will be introduced.
