Microsoft will soon introduce a new and useful feature for its Excel mobile apps for iOS and Android users. With the new feature, users can take a photo of any printed data table they have and convert it into an editable sheet in the app.
Initially, the feature will be available only for the Android users of Microsoft 365 but will soon be accessible on iOS devices as well.
Microsoft is utilizing a combination of artificial intelligence and image recognition software to carry out the feature so users don’t have to manually input hardcopy data.
According to some users the new feature may not work well with large batches of images. In response, Callie Neylan the lead designer of Excel said that, "Maybe there's a way we could figure this out."
Besides the AI-powered feature, Microsoft is also rolling out its Account security alerts on the company’s Authenticator app. The security alert will work similar to Outlook.com and send out notifications whenever the password and other security-related content is changed. The alerts are available immediately on both iOS and Android Microsoft Authenticator app.
