It’s a well-known fact that the competition among major social media platforms is at an all-time high. Almost every social media networking company that we are aware of wants to secure their spot at the top. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise when the news of a new feature being tested breaks out.
Instagram is the latest platform with an interesting new feature, ready to be rolled out. A couple of months ago, it was reported that Instagram was working on “Creator Accounts” to give Celebrities, Influencers and users with well-established fan base more control over their profiles. While, in February the Facebook-owned app was also spotted testing a feature that gives creators the ability to hide their contact details from their profile. Well, it looks like another new feature is ready to go on the floors any time now.
Jane Manchun Wong recently tweeted a "first glimpse" photo of how these creator accounts look. According to Wong, the feature is currently being tested with a limited number of users. However, she managed to get a sneak peek and didn’t hesitate in sharing it on Twitter.
The screenshot of the creator page has a variety of options such as Flexible Profile Controls (which will allow users to manage contact information and buttons on their profiles), Simplified Messaging (a new inbox for simplifying the process of managing message requests, allowing user a convenient way to connect with their followers) and More Growth Tools (for analytics, boosting/sponsoring and other promotional purposes).
With options like these, Instagram will surely attract the attention of celebrities and influencers, which will likely bring even more advertisers on board.
