Apples and iPhones used to be known for their innovation, but recently Apple, especially in terms of iPhone has not introduced any innovation rather just a few modifications. This could be the reason that within a year, Apple which was once the most innovative company is now on the 17th spot of the list.
Fast Company, an American business magazine recently released its annual list of “World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies” of 2019, which named a Chinese company Meituan Dianping at the top. Meituan Dianping is a company that is used for booking or delivering different services such as hotels, movie tickets or even food.
Fast Company said that iPhone or iPad has not been very impressive products from the Apple last year, instead, A12 Bionic chipset has mustered the attention much. This processor has seven-nanometer manufacturing process, its fastest performance is based on 6.9 billion transistors which consume less power and has high-end photography. Also, iPhone X, AirPods and augmented reality have been the reason behind making Apple the most innovative company in 2018.
Whereas, other companies like Square, Shopify, Alibaba, and Twitch have left Apple behind because of its not so innovative devices which also failed to get remarkable sales. The skyrocketing prices of iPhones and other services for a new range of phones – iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, have played the part as well in bring Apple down the list.
As far as the iPhone that will be released in 2019 is considered, not much is expected from it either in terms of innovation. Also, the prices of the devices are to be looked for, whether Apple will raise the prices or not. It would be interesting to see what innovation will Apple bring in iPhone or will there be the launch of another device in the near future.
While, in consumer electronics category Apple is still leading the chart followed by Kano, Google and Microsoft.
