Uber introduces a new feature in Pakistan that allows passengers to communicate with the drivers without the need of sharing their mobile number.
"We’re excited to announce the introduction of Phone Anonymisation in Pakistan, a new feature which has been designed to improve the way riders and uber partners communicate.", said Uber in a blog post. Adding further, "What does this mean? Now, when you [user] need to contact a driver-partner regarding a trip, both phone numbers will be anonymised—meaning that you will no longer see each other’s personal contact details. If you don’t want to make a call, you also have the option to message uber-drivers from within the app; your number will not be shared even when you opt for this option."
Although, Uber has not yet confirmed when this new feature would be available for users but we can expect the same to happen very soon.
