Google Has No Plans to Shut Down its Blogger Service

When will Google stop its free Blogger service? After the termination of Google Plus, Blogger users are also becoming apprehensive about their position on the platform. However, Google sets the record straight by stating that they don’t plan to close their free blogging service anytime soon.

A few days ago, Matt Navarra, a digital media consultant observed that the Blogger’s Twitter account became private suddenly. From his account, he tweeted his concern, which as expected – outraged the Blogger.com community who has been using the content management system (CMS) for many years.

To separate reality from rumors, DigitalInformationWorld got in touch with Google and inquired about the future of the service. In response, Soraya Lambrechts, a spokesperson from Blogger clearly replied that the company has no plans to sunset its blogging platform.

The spokesperson also clarified regarding the private Twitter account by commenting, “The account is temporarily locked, but the team will be back soon.”

Although Google has a long history of killing its products, the current statement shows that the tech giant will continue the Blogger site.

Are you hosting your domain on Google's Blogger service? And wondering whether the search giant is planning to sunset its free blogging platform, just like GooglePlus? Then wonder no more. Apparently, Google doesn't want to disappoint bloggers yet.

Today, Blogger has more than 90 million monthly visitors and content creators are not only churning out some quality content but also utilizing the AdSense for revenue that is ultimately making advertisers of Google very happy. Perhaps that is the primary reason why Google is not eliminating the Blogger service from its umbrella.

Another reason for Google to keep Blogger up and running is that most of Google’s entities such as Android and YouTube are using the Blogger platform to host their respective blogs.

Regardless of the reason, Google has to keep the switch “on” for small publishers and business – the users of Blogger.com can rejoice completely over the current news. However, if you are worried about the future of Blogger, switch over to an alternative CMS.
