Kevin Systrom, the former CEO of Instagram, who left Facebook last month, answered about his decision of leaving Facebook during his first public briefing after leaving the company. According to him, it was hard to work there, otherwise, no one quit the job if it's going well.
"You don’t leave a job because everything is awesome.", said Kevin Systrom, ex-CEO of Instagram, at the Wired 25 Summit in San Francisco, adding, "I want this thing (Instagram) to succeed."
He is passionate to do something new and bears no hard feelings about the company in his heart. He further praised Instagram and said, it's in a very good place.
Systrom and Mike Krieger, who was the fellow Instagram co-founder, announced about their decision to leave the company in September, Facebook then announced to replace the pair with Adam Mosseri as the new head of Instagram. Mosseri is an experienced Facebook executive serving in the company since long.
The New York Times reported several tensions between the co-founders of Instagram and Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook CEO. They had ties over several issues as Zuckerberg was increasing his control over the unit and was changing the Instagram staff.
Systrom and Krieger are now making plans for their future projects. According to him, he is also taking flying lessons from Sebastian Thrun's teacher. Sebastian Thrun is Google's ex-employ and currently, run a flying-car company.
Systrom has good intentions about Instagram and wishes to see the company as the best social network in the world even if he is not running it.
