While chatting with a friend, your friend sends you a YouTube link or one from an Instagram account, it feels like a chore to move from the chat and watch the link but you can't deny either. You have always wondered when will you get a chance to no longer go through that hassle on your Android smartphone, well, the wait has finally come to an end. Whatsapp is going to get support for picture-in-picture videos in an update coming soon.
By the reports of WABetainfo, the company is about to launch this update for the Android users. The users will be able to operate on Instagram and YouTube while answering messages on Whatsapp.
This feature has already been released on iOS in may. The videos from YouTube or Instagram will be able to play in a tiny window in the Whatsapp chat itself. You will not have to get your Whatsapp chat closed in order to watch a video sent to you by a contact on the chat. This feature, however, does not come without any limitations, the Instagram stories are still not compatible with it and you will have to launch Instagram app for viewing them.
This feature can be activated by an easy tap on the “play” icon on the videos sent to you.
This update does not have a confirmed released date as of yet, even in the latest updated version 2.18.234. However, it is expected to roll out in the coming weeks.
After suspicious link detection, extended controls for the admin and group calls, this is another striking update in this year only. Let us wait and see what more does the company has in store for us!
