Facebook has announced that it will soon provide the latest feature of Stories Highlights just like the one available for Instagram. As noted by TechCrunch, user Jane Manchun Wong was found availing the option. She gave the following screenshot as an evidence:
Facebook has then confirmed this feature as an update by saying:
“People have told us they want a way to highlight and save the Stories that matter most to them. We’ll soon start testing highlights on Facebook – a way to choose Stories to stay on your profile, making it easier to express who you are through memories.”
This came only weeks after Facebook introduced Stories Archive for Facebook Stories option. Its only natural for Facebook to do that since Instagram, also owned by Facebook, already has both of these features. This option would also be beneficial for brands looking for more presentation options to maximize the opportunities for their stories. This has been happening on the Instagram already.
While there is no definite proof as to where this Stories Highlight option will be placed on the Facebook profiles, there is a chance of it appearing in front and center, as another promotional element that would not be overlooked.
This tool also increases the value of the stories as the brands were unsure of investing in a kind of investment that will disappear in 24 hours. Archive and Highlights, both will improve this short-coming, this will help cure the insecurities of the brands and help them be more willing to spend proper time on the Stories content.
