According to a recent research by Chartbeat, Google has taken over Facebook to become publishers’ favorite. Facebook’s recent announcement of displaying more content from family and friends in a news feed have put them in some trouble as there has been a drop in referral traffic from Facebook. As a result, Google has taken the lead, particularly in the mobile section from August 2017.
The fact more publishers are signing up for the Google publishing format is probably the fact that Google launched a publishing format in 2015 which is known as Accelerated Mobile Pages. The format hosts the content of the publishers on Google servers which ultimately lessens the loading time for mobile users.
Apparently, publishers will now be more reliable on Google for their advertising needs because of Facebook’s stance on promoting friends and family posts on news feed.
