For many of us, purchasing product will always mean buying online. But you may be surprised to learn that Ecommerce sales account for just 8% of total retail sales in the US, and just 14% of retail sales in the UK.
So whilst Ecommerce is a huge industry with trillions of dollars being spent there’s still a huge potential for growth. How do you plan to take advantage in 2017?
To help, the guys at Red Website Design have created this infographic. It shows the key stats and trends that should guide your Ecommerce website marketing strategy.
First you need to consider how you will reach your audience and get potential customers to visit your site.
The infographic shows that the top 3 traffic sources driving sales for Ecommerce are Organic (22%), Email (20%) and CPC (19%), with display and social accounting for just 1 and 2%.
So your SEO, PPC and email marketing campaigns need to be where you concentrate your marketing budget.
The next thing to consider is your website itself. There’s no point generating traffic if visitors take one look at your site and leave to go somewhere else.
The stats show 39% of people will stop engaging with a website if it takes too long to load, and 38% of people will leave a website if they find the layout unattractive.
Make sure you invest in your website design if you want customers to convert.
