Rekognition links images with online products, while Find It locates product listings by connecting social media images with offerings on eBay.

Is Visual Search Really That Popular?

Have consumers fully embraced visual search? Has it become mainstream technology? Recent data show that while visual search isn’t yet ubiquitous, its popularity is growing rapidly.

Most people are still unaware of visual search—only 27% are familiar with the technology. Plus, visual search accounts for only a fraction—less than one percent—of searches. However, its use is growing: on Pinterest, visual searches skyrocketed to over 600 million in 2018, up from 250 million in 2017.
